This small, deciduous tree with a rounded head is covered with small flowers of a rose pink color in the spring before the appearance of heart-shaped leaves. It can grow to 25' tall with an equal spread. It has a low branching habit with a rounded form. Leaves turn yellow green in the fall.

The Coast Live Oak is an evergreen round headed tree. It can reach 15'-40' high and 20' wide; it grows very well from the coastal areas to the interior valleys. It is native to California, is drought tolerant, and attracts butterflies. -Cornflower Farms

Botanical name:Penstemon spectabilis
This shrubby perennial produces spectacular, blue purple, tubular flowers on spikes, which is quite attractive to hummingbirds. Royal Beard Tongue can reach a mature size of about 3'-4' tall and wide. It is native to Southern California. It is best planted in the fall and blooms from spring through summer.

Yellow Bahia is a perennial groundcover that will even grow in shallow caliche. It grows in full sun; it is drought tolerant, but with some additional moisture, it will bloom until frost season. It grows fast and will reseed. It has 1" yellow flowers. daisies and silvery foliage; it is herbaceous. It is constantly in bloom in the low desert from spring until late fall. It can then be cut to the ground for fresh regrowth in spring. It spreads also by underground rhizomes.
