Common name:Manzanita Emerald Carpet
Botanical name:Arctostaphylos 'Emerald Carpet'

The 'Emerald Carpet' is an evergreen groundcover that grows to 1' tall by 6-8' wide. It is favored by many landscapers as the manzanita of choice for inland situations. It has dark green leaves and exhibits compact growth. The variety is relatively tolerant of adverse soil conditions, but requires good drainage. -Monterey Bay Nursery

This spreading, evergreen shrub has glossy green foliage and large clusters of orange berries. It can be kept to 3' high and easily grows to 8'-10' wide. It works well as a bank cover.

Penstemon gloxiniodes 'Firebird' is perennial, but sometimes treated as an annual. It has a compact, bushy, upright growth to 4' tall. Tubular summer flowers in loose spikes appear at the stem ends, in a rosy red color.

Oleander is an evergreen shrub with moderate to fast growth. Leaves are narrow, 4"-12" long, dark green, leathery, and glossy. It is attractive in all seasons. Flowers are in clusters on branch ends and blooms from late spring through fall.
